What's New and Exciting!
Guess What!
We’ve decided to launch something new, and you might have guessed it! A newsletter! Here we plan to send out updates to our subscribers on things we find quirky, that we think you might too. Consider it to be like our “User Submissions” section, but instead, it shows up right in your email. But don’t worry, we don’t plan to send you an update every day, instead, we will be sending this out monthly. Below, you can see an example of what it might look like.
“Divers set up carving stations on underwater scaffolding and on a sunken boat”. (Watters, 2021) WHAT IN THE WORLD? Yup. You read that right! This could be beyond quirky and that’s coming from us! Personally, I would have never expected something like this to unfold. Hopefully, we can find a way to compete, and of course win! Read more here.
The End of Fall
This is exciting, right? As fall comes to an end, we get opportunities to start transitioning to winter designs! Make sure to clean up your pumpkins from Halloween before they end up looking like the one below. A great environment-friendly idea is composting them!
Winter Design Tips
The bright vivid orange of a pumpkin always contrasts the snow so nicely! Our quick tip is to avoid white pumpkins this time of year, even though you may have them inside your house, the colour never seems to sit quite right. Bright colours like orange help transition from fall colours to the holiday season too! If you're feeling extra quirky this time of year, maybe try a purple pumpkin or two!
Forward Thinking
You may have noticed a theme in the new and exciting pieces above. As we grow, we aim to use our platform for good, in more ways than one! We’d like to promote environmentally friendly designs that recycle pumpkins, or old out of date design items. This is still quite a fresh initiative but were at the point now where we feel comfortable sharing it! So, stay tuned for more updates on this!
Pumpkin Carving Designs
There is nothing more quirky than pumpkin carvings, they are a direct representation of the artist who created them! Most people like to keep their carvings like a classic jack o’ lantern (Like the one below). However, my favourites are the quirky ones; Cats, Ghosts, Tiny eyes with a giant smile, or anything else that stands out as unique! When it comes to clean up, not everything is garbage, make sure you save those seeds for an easy snack!
Quirky Pumpkin Recipes
Come Autumn, everyone and their neighbour or closest friend is going to be talking about their favourite pumpkin recipe. Not us, we chose the quirky and unique route. Everyone has a favourite pumpkin pie recipe, but we curated this list of recipes on a new age of pumpkin design and flavour! Follow along and take the journey down the individualistic route of quirky pumpkin flavours, that for some reason just work!
Pumpkin Design Year Round
Some people might try and convince you that you can only bring pumpkins our during the Autumn months for decoration. We’re here to argue that! Pumpkins can be a part of any fun and quirky design aspects! Not all pumpkins have to be orange, why not use a quirky white one to neutralize some of those brighter tones? Did you know that PURPLE pumpkins exist? We did, and that’s why you’re here! Sure, the typical orange pumpkin matches wonderfully to the colors of leaves on the ground, but don’t limit yourself!

Want to see what others have done? You asked, we answered! You can find all sorts of user-submitted content here. Although you may find this content in our other sections, this section of the Quirky Pumpkin Designs website is dedicated to content from users only! Different sections will have content from users (which we are now calling Pumpkin-Heads), us (the site content managers) or third parties (our advertisers or partnered companies). Users can submit their unique recipes, quirky carvings, or outlandish decorations (All of which will be reviewed by content managers). So look no further! If you want to compare yourself directly to others, here’s the place to do it! Unsure how to submit your work? Scroll down just a little bit farther, and you’ll find what you’re looking for!

If you’ve just read through the user submissions introduction and wish to contribute yourself, here’s where you can do so! Be sure to fill out the contact form as accurately as possible to make our jobs easier and show you off quicker! We ask you for your name to credit the work to you and record who owns which content. If you wish to remain anonymous, please check off the “anonymous submission box.” We require your email so that the content can be sent to us. The category is simply so that our job is more manageable, and we know where you wish your content to end up. However, if we feel a change needs to be made, we will reach out. Lastly is the content box! Throw all your words in there, and we will make them look fancy! Any inappropriate words will be removed and could prevent your content from being posted, so choose wisely! This goes for pictures too, use the attachment feature and add as many as you’d like! All content is subject to review and, if necessary, removal. That being said, send us an email!
